WE BELIEVE IN ACTIVE PLAY-BASED LEARNING

Play-based learning: a context for learning through which children organise and make sense of their social worlds, as they engage actively with people, objects and representations. Whilst the parents or carers of the child(ren) can have down time and indulge in delicious products from the café.

WHY DO WE SUPPORT ACTIVE PLAY BASED LEARNING?

Playing is fun at any age. Consider what you do to relieve the stress of an active day at work or school, or how you vacation, what you spend your money on, if you have a hobby or interest. If you have children, just watch how exuberant, carefree and energised they are when they are having a good time. However, there are other benefits to Active Play besides just having a good time. Studies have shown that it is also a major factor in the appropriate mental, social, emotional and physical development of children. When children are engaged in play, they are presented with various situations, interactions and challenges. As they develop competencies in these areas, they are honing the same social, mental and physical skills they'll need in other aspects of life.

WHO ESTABLISHED PLAYSHED CAFE?
The owners and operators of Playshed Cafe, Tania, is a mother of small children and have extensive experience in teaching. Their education background in combination with their business expertise has driven them to develop a new playcentre concept, to cater to the needs of parents with small children, who are after an exciting but safe experience for their children and an environment they, as parents, can also relax in.

SOCKS

Socks must be worn by both adults and children while in the play area. 

PLAYSHED CAFE FOOD POLICY
With the exception of baby pureed food and children’s drink bottles, no outside food or drinks allowed. Special dietary requirements can be catered for by arrangement with management.

Playshed Cafe serves a variety of food and snacks appropriate for babies and toddlers as well as adults. ​Our food policy allows us to better control the food being consumed and ensure our premises are a healthy and safe environment for your family as well as those who suffer with severe food allergies.

FOOD ALLERGY NOTICE
Please be advised that food may contain these ingredients: Milk, eggs, wheat, soybean, peanuts, tree nuts, fish and shellfish. If you have any allergies or specific dietary requirements, please notify a staff member. All staff have been trained in allergen awareness and food handling.

PHOTO POLICY
Taking photos and videos of your own children having fun is allowed. However, please avoid photographing or filming other children.
